Golf Club:
The
City of Buena Vista has
developed an 18-hole par 72 championship golf course at
Glen Maury Park that
is a public golf course.
Opening:
The course officially opened
in August 2004.
Location:
Within
Glen Maury Park as part of 600 acre master planned park system – just off
of Interstate 81 on Route 60, just west of downtown Buena Vista.
Course Designer:
Rick Jacobson of
Jacobson Golf Design
Yardage:
Par 72 with five sets tees
ranging from 4,941 yards on forward tees to 6,925 yards from championship
tees.
Grasses:
Bent grass tees, fairways
and greens and bluegrass roughs.
Description:
Rick Jacobson’s comments: “ …links style course, with feel of a mountain
course; many elevation changes with panoramic views; and rock outcroppings.
Traditional set up with 4 par fives, 10 par fours and 4 par threes and five sets
of tees for enjoyment of all levels of golfers”
Key Features:
An outstanding practice facility including driving range, putting green and
chipping area.
Clubhouse:
Currently being designed,
the clubhouse will be located on the highest part of the property offering
full views of the golf course and Blue Ridge Mountains
Programs:
Instruction, etiquette and rules programs will be offered to all with special
emphasis on Junior golfers. Clinics, leagues, tournaments, outings, and mixers
will all be offered.
Fee Structure:
The Vista Links offers many ways to play including: 9-holes,
18-holes, tournaments, outings, and an annual pass.
